A Post NOT About Miles

I can't believe it is already the middle of December! Let's rewind about 7 months...

It was a rainy, blustery day in May. I was all dressed and pressed, ready to walk across that stage after 5 long years. Yes, I have taken you back to my graduation day. A day I had awaited with much anticipation, a day that seemed to take forever to finally arrive. As I stood there taking pictures in all my glory with my sweet 3 month old baby all I could think was, "Yay, I'm done. I'm finally done. I don't have to do anything but love on this sweet little boy for 8 long months."

Well those 8 long months are quickly coming to an end. I start first internship rotation January 4th, 2010...which mind you is only 2 1/2 weeks away!! I have been instructed to contact my first preceptor by this Thursday to coordinate everything for the rotation. Holy smokes time really does fly when you're having fun!

I have been experiencing an overwhelming sense of excitement, sadness and extreme fear. I am excited to get back into the groove of things and feel productive again (since I don't get dressed til about noon everyday). However, I am extremely saddened to have to leave my sweet Miles for so long everyday, even though I know he will be well taken care of it is hard to think that I wont be the one doing it all *sniffle & sigh*. Most of all though I am so scared! School feels like so long ago, I honestly don't feel like I know/remember a single thing. What if I show up and my preceptors think I'm a joke because I don't know half the stuff I should?

Hang on I'm having a mini panic attack...

Wow, what a scary thought!

I do have some good news though. Remember how I was supposed to drive all the way to Davis county for months (Jan-April)? Well, I worked with my director about a month ago and we had things worked out for me to go to Box Elder county instead. Not quite as far, but still through the canyon - boo. Then, yesterday I got a call. Jennie (my director) told me that Logan City School District called her and "begged" for an intern. Lucky for them I was eager to stay in Cache Valley and not have to commute through the canyon all winter. So needless to say the Lord out stretched his hand and gave us this amazing blessing! We will save oodles on gas $$, I will be safer (I'm a terrible snow driver), and most importantly the time I would have spent commuting I can now spend with Miles :).

Wow! My life is about to change; drastically!

Sarah that is great news! I'm so happy that you will be able to stay in the valley. Commuting wastes so much precious family time. Hooray! And Sarah, you can do this. You'll do awesome!

You will do amazing and everything you learned will come back to you. I am so happy that you got an internship here in the valley now. Believe me speaking from experience driving the canyon everyday is not fun at all.

I remember my first days back to work after having Thomas. I cried. It got easier each day though, when I realized that it was okay. It made it so magical when I would go home and see how excited he was to see me, it really made me feel good. You will do amazing and before you know it the internship will be over and then you'll be able to do whatever it is that you have planned for that next goal in your life. Miles will beam whenever you arrive home and make anything that happened that day disappear. Also, don't give yourself so little credit. You have worked hard to be here and you will rock it. I have never known you to give less than 100%, also what is an internship for but to learn. Enjoy it!! :)
