Gabe and I have opposite schedules (I work early, he works late)
that way Miles can be home with one of us as much as possible.
That being said, we don't get a lot of time together as a family.
So we decided that on the days we both have off
we need to make a special effort to do something fun.
Something that involves more than sitting inside a small apartment
and letting summer pass us by.
Well, Thursday was one such day!
In honor of said day we decided to head to Thanksgiving Point to check
out the Museum of Ancient Life.

After running, literally, through the museum
to keep up with one excited two year old
we spent sometime wandering around outside so
we could soak up some much needed sun.

We walked through some of the gardens
and had a lovely little picnic lunch complete with
pb&j, string cheese, apples and strawberries.
Yum. I love a good picnic.

I want to go back later in the summer to check out
that trellis when it is covered in roses!

And by 12:30 we were ready to head home for a much needed nap.
I think we all forgot how wonderfully exhausting summer days can be.
There are so many things that I wish I would have taken pictures of.
Like...
Miles completely zonked within seconds of getting in the car
or Our lovely picnic
or Miles smelling the tulips
Ah well; we had a fabulous time even if we don't have all the photos to prove it.
