I don't know if I have mentioned this yet or not, but Miles has had severe reflux for the past month. We went to the doctor and determined that this was at the root of all his fussing. His doctor told us that he was almost positive that it wasn't colic, but reflux that was making him such a miserable baby. He would vomit (and I mean projectile) several times after each feeding and then scream until he fell asleep or could eat again.
Anyway, the doc gave us some medication for it and we left with high hopes. We did see a slight improvement, but not the drastic effects we were hoping for. After he had been on the medication for about three weeks we started noticing that he was not napping well during the day (luckily he still slept great at night), if he did sleep it was a very restless sleep for only 20-30 minutes. Needless to say the lack of sleep only added to his discomfort and therefore kept him quite grumpy.
Well, Sunday I decided that the medicine wasn't make enough of a difference to keep him on it. He has now been off the medication for almost 3 days and has been napping like you wouldn't believe. He has also had less vomiting episodes and has been a much more pleasant baby. I now get several hours a day with a smiley boy rather than all day with a screaming, tired, uncomfortable one. I hope these changes are here to stay and hope that he will continue to get better and outgrow this horrible reflux.
I also wanted to mention that even though he has been hard during the day he has at least given us some relief at night. For the last 3 weeks or so he as only been waking up once a night. We will give him his last feeding between 10:00-10:30 then put him to bed and he will sleep until 4:00-5:00 then back to sleep until about 7:30. It has been wonderful.
Sorry for the long and semi-boring post, but I still wanted to document it. Oh, and we finally got our new camera so get ready for tons of pics!

I didn't know you guys were going through that. I'm so sorry. I'm glad it is getting better. The best thing that helps me through stuff like that is just knowing that most baby stuff is just a phase, and it will pass.
