Wow, a lot is changing around here!
First, I took a job at University Hospital in SLC.
Second, Gabe accepted a job at Ken Garff Nissan in SLC.
I have been commuting for the last week and let me tell you driving sure takes
a lot out of a girl. It's not an awful drive but I'm totally exhausted by the time I get home.
We are planning on moving the end of February (Gabe's a decent guy and felt his
current employer deserved a two weeks notice) and are looking at Bountiful.
We will definitely have to rent a while, but I think overall that's where we'd like to end up.
It's super close to down town, it looks family friendly, the temple is one of my favorites, and it's a smidge closer to home :). However, we are considering as far south as Midvale.
The biggest and hardest change is that we are going to have to rely on non-family
child care for Miles on the days I work. We don't know anyone in the area and don't really want
to take Miles to a center (they are so huge, dirty, and impersonal). Does anyone
know of a stay-at-home mom looking to make a few extra bucks or someone who
does a small daycare out of their home that they would recommend?
Anyway...the point of this post is that I am seeking advice/referrals from everyone
and anyone that might be familiar with the SLC/Bountiful area.
We are trying to exhaust all of our options before making this extremely
difficult decision so any information you might have would be super helpful.
If you have a referral please either leave me your contact info or theirs so we can get
to know them.

YAY! Changes are nice when it is positive! I'm so excited for you guys!
My sister runs a preschool in Bountiful, I know he is not old enough yet, but it is a really great school. She was a child-life specialist at PCMC for several years and has an undergrad in child development. She is also working on her Master's.I believe she does a 3-4 and a 5 yr old class.
In the meantime, she knows people in the area and I could see if she knows someone you can trust.
That's great that you guys both got new jobs but I'm so sad that you won't be living in Logan anymore. Even though we don't see you very often, it's nice to know that you are close. Now it will be even harder to get together. We'll still have to do a once a summer BBQ or something. Anyway, sorry I don't know anyone in the area that babysits. Good luck finding someone. That can be hard to leave your child with someone you don't know very well. Hopefully it will all work out for you guys.
You are DRIVING to the U EVERYDAY? Perhaps I could talk you into picking me up on Wednesday Night on your way home? I am at Primary's with Henry and Thursday is Grace's birthday.... facebook me Emily Nielsen.
NO! I don't want you to move! (Yes, I know based on where we live moving is expected and inevitable, but that doesn't mean I like it!)
Okay - done whining. Yea! I'm really excited for you! Driving that far would be the pits. I have a friend in Bountiful with a little girl a little older than Miles. I'll check with her and let you know.
You should call Anne, I think I saw on her blog that she moved back to Utah. I know her parents live in bountiful. I don't know what her plans are, maybe she would want to babysit. Or you could trade babysitting. I think Lauren might live in that area somewhere too.
B-Town is the best! We would love to end up in this area as well I think. As of right now Benji is just looking for work so we are living with my parents so I could possibly watch Miles. I've never done that with Carson so I'm not sure how it would go, but we can always give it a try and see how it goes. If you are interested give me a call! 801-635-9055
That is so exciting! Unfortunately I don't know much about Bountiful. Seems like a great place to live though. Good luck. I'm sure it will all work out.
You're moving!!? First Chelsea, now you?! I'm so sad to see you go but happy for you. I love Bountiful.
That is so exciting for you family. Day care is so hard I found all the people I took Andrew through co-workers, so I would suggest talking to the people you work with. Also I know that Utah state has a program where they rate and look into different day cares I do not know if they go into the SLC area but it is worth a call. Please let me know if I can help with the move in any way.
You are getting to your new years resolutions very quickly. Congrats. I do know some people who live in Bountiful that is a stay at home mom. I also know someone who can do hair really well there too. What days do you need him to be watched? So I can ask.
